FollowUp Friday: Steal this email, prime your '23 pipeline
2023 is going to be a blood bath. Join us on Followup Friday
Welcome to Follow-Up Friday where I share the quick wins I’m using that you can try for yourself.
Action packed, to the point. Each Friday you can count on:
1 Call Script or Email to try on your next followup
2 Subject lines to try for emails or texts
3 Videos I send to my own sales team
Sobering up : If you’re like me, December was terrible for engaging new business but great for closing and expanding business. That’s useful for splashing out on the ugliest sweater at the holiday party, but terrible for the January commission check.
Setting Up : This week has been all about getting people out of the holiday hangover and back into a buying mood.
My goal the first week of the year has been squarely focused on getting a new talk on the books to learn about those objectives so I can weave that into a story that stars us and them.
1 → Steal this email for a 24% response rate
Quotes McGoats: Most of our customers at LXi are following up quotes, or we’re doing it for them. And a lot of 2022 quotes just aren’t feeling the love so we’re spotlighting all the stragglers that didn’t close with that super amazing once-in-a-lifetime deal you offered them on Dec 31.
You did offer them that once in a lifetime deal, didn’t you?
Steal the email below (it had a 24% response rate) and tell me what your customers said back.
Subject: That last quote from us was so 2022
Body:
JOE! (assuming this is your prospect’s name)
Remember that quote from last year?
I could have done a better job and I’d like the opportunity to try.
I’ll try your mobile this afternoon to discuss
Alternatively - if you moved another direction, perhaps you can explain?
So there it is, give it a shot.
Tell me what you’d change if anything 💋
2 → Next, a few Subject lines that made our prospects say 🤔
A few subject lines that would be interesting to try for followup. The goal is just to cut through the noise. Here are 2 we tried this week with success.
Subject: “Its time we talk about that quote …”
Subject: “I think you know what this email is about John…”
3 → Sales Videos to watch on the john
Every morning before our scrum I send the team videos from people way smarter than I on cold calling. Here are my three of my favorites for this week.
My second favorite Braun, Josh kills it with something I’ve been wanting to put in words for a while. He did it better than I would have.
Josh, that’s me outside your window. I love what you do.
Finally, one from Ryan - we use start, stop, repeat every morning
Until next Friday,
Don’t forget to Go FollowUp.
